Pay monthly websites are fully supported by us; support queries are to be entered through our support website or via email email@example.com. We endeavour to respond to all queries within 8 hours (9:00am – 6pm Monday to Friday). We aim to respond to queries submitted over a weekend within a day (11am – 6pm Saturday & Sunday. Saying that, most of the queries are actually responded to and addressed within couple of hours.
Code Effective shall use its reasonable endeavours to make the server and the services available to the Customer 100% of the time but because the services are provided by means of computer and telecommunications systems, we make no warranties or representations that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free and Code Effective shall not, in any event, be liable for interruptions of service or downtime of the server.
We carry out regular, daily data backups for use by our technicians in the event of systems failure. We do not provide data restoration facilities for individual customers. Even though every effort is made to ensure data is backed up correctly Code Effective accepts no responsibility for data loss or corruption.
We are in no way selling any 3rd-arty plug-ins or a 3rd-party CMS, we are not re-selling WordPress, we only charge a monthly subscription for our design and development work, hosting, maintenance and support.
We do not charge any upfront fees and we only expect you to pay your monthly subscription fee 1 month in advance. Upon signing the contract you make your first payment, we deliver your new website within 2-4 weeks and you continue to make regular monthly payments going forward. In rare cases, we reserve the right to request a 6 months deposit to secure our work. In this case you will need to pay an equivalent of first 6 months on signature of the contract. You are not required to make any monthly payments for the first six months and you will be only charged your standard monthly fee from the seventh month onwards.
Payments can only be made on a monthly basis, payment must be made by PayPal subscription, Direct Debit or bank Standing Order and must be purchased through our site.
Should you wish to cancel your subscription we would require 30 days notice, you will then be sent all your website content and data in XML format along with all the images compressed in ZIP format. Should your subscription be cancelled without a notice your site will be removed from the server immediately and this may result in loss of data. Please note that you will not receive your full website, you will only receive the data which you have submitted (text, logos, images and graphics).
Should you wish to have your full website the cost would be £1499. We impose this charge to cover all design and development costs, if you decide to cease the contract within the first year from the Effective Date of this agreement. You will then have the full website available to you to move to any other server hosting platform and you will own all rights to the site. The full site would be packaged up and installed on a server of your choosing, or a new arrangement can be made to keep your web hosting with Code Effective.
Am I going to be tied into a long-term contract?
Absolutely, not! The beauty of the monthly subscription model we offer is that your service lasts for 1 month. It will auto-renew every month to maintain continuity of your website, but you are free to cancel your subscription at any time. Our existing customers stay with us because they like to receive an outstanding service at an affordable price, not because they’ve signed a long-term contract.
Can I customise my website or do you do it for me?
After the website is designed and developed we encourage customers to customise their website and give them easy controls in which to do so. However, we also offer a design customisation for less tech savvy customers as well as a logo’s, banners, other artwork to be built in when we install it for you at a small extra cost.
If I leave, can I take my website with me?
When I decide to move away from you do you allow me to take the site with me to my new hosting?Our CMS platform, design and any updates that have been served are non-transferable. Only the customers data and content will be packaged up as XML to be moved to another platform if you wish. Alternatively, you can purchase your complete website for a one off payment of £1499.
Can I upgrade at a later date?
Sure. Every website we design is built with your company’s growth in mind. Even, if you start with the lowest package we will prepare the entire backend configuration to allow an easy expandability in the future. This way your website can be enhanced and upgraded at any time without any loss of existing functionality. Furthermore, we don’t even need to take existing website down to implement required changes.
What happens, if I miss a payment or two?
We require you to setup a standing order with your bank or Direct Debit to avoid any delays in payments. Should any delays occur we would proceed as follows: if payment is not cleared within 14 days of the due date we will send you a gentle reminder. If another monthly payment is not received we will take your website and/or email offline and the service will not be accessible. After 60 days we completely remove your account from our servers and you will lose all your data. We are very understanding and if you face difficulties with making regular payments, please contact us and we can work something out.
Do you provide domain name or does the customer?
Usually, you must provide and point over your own domain name. If you don’t know how to manage domain – we’ll help you. Every package comes with the FREE .co.uk domain name. Other domains like .com, .org, .net, etc. carry an additional fee, which is equal to the normal fees charged by the domain registrar.
